Physical Characteristics

High elves are the weakest elven subrace, only possessing half the strength of a human. They posses shades of skin that range from cream color to porcelain white. Their hair colors are the same range as humans, however their eye colors can be anywhere from brown, green, blue, purple, magenta, and amber in color. High elves can be anywhere from 5 to 7 feet tall, being taller then humans on average. High elves have the longest lifespan of any elven subrace, reaching up to 800 years in age. They will have perpetual youth and beauty up till the last 10 years of their life. High elves have very precise hearing and can hear much farther and quieter sounds than humans. They are also very petite, agile, and have very fine motor skills. They are resistant to extreme temperatures that would normally trouble or kill other races. High elves are very fragile, and take a very long time to heal, up to 8 times as long as a human. Like all elves, their metabolism and physiology prevents them from accumulating body fat, however this comes with the downside of not being able to survive as long without food, 14 days with no food can be deadly. High elves reach maturity by age 20. High elves are very resistant to disease, being immune to almost all diseases. However certain rare epidemics can prove to be very troublesome to them.

Mental Characteristics

High elves are very reserved and tend to spend great amounts of time thinking before acting. They tend to withhold emotions that do not serve any precise purpose at a given moment. They do think highly of themselves, but are likely to withold arrogant comments in favor of appearing more wise. High elves are very intelligent but not to the same degree as Dark Elves. They have a natural affinity towards channeling magic and it is second nature to them. High elves are very selective with whom they form bonds with, let alone strong bonds.

Society

High elven society could be described as very orderly and magic oriented. Their lack of strength is directly addressed using magic. Mages, professors, and disciples of magic are very centric to high elven society. One could say that climbing the academic ladder in a magic school is most high elf children's primary goal. All high elves are very educated reguarding the origins and application of magic, giving the whole race a very astute appearance. Their reluctance to trust everyone and highly selective relationships prevent the society as a whole from being a threat to other races. Reguardless, they possess the most knowledge of magic and have the greatest combat strength versus inferior magic users and races that rely on non-magic based technology. High elven laws, rules, and social mannerisms are few in number, but great in weight. Breaking any law, rule, or mannerism no matter how small usually results in severe punishment far beyond what other races would subject their own to. The high elves are known for their entrenched nobility that has maintained their political positions for many millennia.

Technology

While not very advanced in non-magic related technology, the high elves are walking lexicons when it comes to magic. They have the greatest collection of magical knowledge along with the highest levels of education of any society utilizing this knowledge. High elves usually spend decades in a magic academy before graduating. They have thus become known as the most educated race in Amestria.
