Grizzly Hills

The Grizzly Hills is a small region which forms one of the northernmost parts of the Exodius Continent. The name of the region was given by the many travelers which have passed through the region, all taking note of the massive grizzly bear population. Crossing the region is a difficult gambit, and many would rather sail the Northwatch Channel than deal with the local bears and the very frequent bandits which prey on travelers passing through the region.

History

The Grizzly Hills were notorious after the fall of Exodia, for claiming the lives of many Exodian refugees trying to reach the Cascadian Coast. Just like in the present, it was considered a dangerous decision to cross the region on foot, the better choice being to sail through the channel north of the region. Since many refugees were impoverished and lacked any form of wealth, access to sailing ships were not an option, and instead they decided to take their chances in passing through the region.

Geography

The Grizzly Hills is a very hilly landscape, with the towering cascadian mountain range in the background. A sparse distribution of evergreens dot the hills, and countless rivers flow from the mountains into the Northwatch Channel. There is a constant cold breeze from the cascadian mountains, which drifts into the channel below. The local wildlife primarily consists of grizzly bears, which feed on the fish found among the many rivers of the region. There is a sparse population of wolves, rabbits, deer, and foxes which also inhabit the area.
