Pureblood vampires are the elite of vampiric society, consisting of just a few families with massive circles of political influence. Gifted with a state of near godhood, these vampires are well placed in their status among their kind. Most pureblood lineages are small and continue to decline, in fact there are only a handful of lineages left. Vampiric society has long speculated what would happen to their culture if pureblood vampires ceased to exist, as they are practically living idols for the rest of vampiric society and maintain stability and order among all lesser vampires.

Physical Characteristics

Pureblood vampires look the same as humans, except that they will always have a youthful and extremely attractive body (towards humans). They will also have red eyes and fangs (retractable). They constantly excrete a pheromone from their skin that causes humans to be attracted to them (ineffective on other races), and their voice has a calming effect. Pureblood vampires are effectively immortal, they will never die from aging and are almost impossible to kill. Once they reach full maturity they will retain their youthful looks forever. They can instantly heal almost any wound (30 seconds or less), and regrow entire organs including their head. Their vampiric blood stores a copy of their memories, meaning that even if the head is completely destroyed they will not lose any memories aside from the immediate moment in which the injury happened. This healing ability consumes a tremendous amount of blood and will make a pureblood thirsty really fast. Normally pureblood vampires have good control over their blood lust and will only lose control when extremely thirsty. Unlike other vampires, pureblood vampires can only survive off drinking human blood. Drinking the blood of a pureblood vampire of a different lineage will increase the power of a pureblood vampire considerably (potential gain per different lineage is limited). Pureblood vampires possess a physical strength that exceeds all other races. They can transform into animals or even mimic the appearance of a specific person for a limited time at the expense of their stamina and blood. Pureblood vampires have telekinetic powers and can move objects with their mind, however the size of said object proportionally drains their blood the larger the object is. When a pureblood vampire dies they will rapidly decay into silver dust (60 seconds). A pureblood vampire needs no food or water in order to survive but may consume them in order to fit in with society. A pureblood vampire is very sensitive to sunlight and it causes them more discomfort then other vampires, so they tend to always be nocturnal. The only way to kill a pureblood vampire is a direct strike to the heart with specialized enchanted weapons.

Vampiric Blood

Pureblood vampires have a blood purity of 100%, which is why they are called 'pure' blood vampires. Once a vampiric bloodline is no longer 100% blood purity, that bloodline will never be able to produce an offspring with 100% blood purity. For this very reason, pureblood vampires only procreate with other pureblood vampires (some exceptions).

Vampiric Conversion

Pureblood vampires possess the unique ability to convert humans and elves into vampires by biting them, lesser vampires cannot do this. The transformation into a minor vampire is nothing but pure pain and suffering, and has a 50% chance to kill the victim. Upon successful conversion, if the victim does not drink the blood of a pureblood vampire within 60 days after becoming a vampire they will slowly descend into madness. While kitsune are technically human, their aetherial soul protects them from being turned into a vampire. A converted vampire has a blood purity of 20%, or 21% if they successfully drank the blood of a pureblood vampire.

Mental Characteristics

Pureblood vampires can move objects with their mind or even telepathically communicate with each other. These vampires sit alone atop the pinnacle of vampiric society and can get incredibly lonely. Many a time they will place themselves into a coffin and undergo a phase of deep sleep, only to be awoken by their descendants many centuries later (some may never wake up). If they are not busy with political matters and don't happen to be in a deep sleep, they are left to ponder their own existence and analyze deep philosophical questions running though their mind. It is safe to say that pureblood vampires are the brooding type, and are almost never happy. Very few things give them any excitement due to their vast lifetime of experience, only when they are young and inexperienced do they tend to feel anything.

History

Pureblood vampires are the oldest and original progenitors of the vampiric race. They date back to the beginning of the Post Exodian Era, and their origin is a complete mystery. There was once at least fifty pureblood lineages in existence during the time of ancestors, but over the course of many centuries leading to the present there are only five known lineages left with only a handful of individuals in total. This was the result of many major feuds between pureblood families, and a series of power games that almost made the human race in addition to pureblood vampires extinct. The remaining few lineages that survived have made mutual pacts with each other to prevent any more deaths between pureblood vampires.

Assorted Info

  • A pureblood vampire's blood is a powerful healing elixir to non-vampiric races, and it won't turn them into vampires.
