The only information on the creation of Amestria comes from an ancient story that has been passed down for countless generations. No one knows if this myth is true or not, but many have accepted it for fact even if they do not fully understand it's origins.

It is said that the Aetari descended from heaven and breathed life into Amestria, which was a chaotic and desolate wasteland devoid of life. The Aetari turned the barren soil into lush forests and grasslands, and inhaled the brown sky and spew fourth oceans. They enchanted the air and made it breathable, giving the sky a wonderful blue color.

And upon the new world which they had transformed, they made the heavens rain forth the various creatures that would inhabit the world. The Aetari then sent from the heavens their children, which would inhabit the paradise which they had created. The Aetari and their children would live in paradise upon the world for many years, but this era of harmony would not last forever.

A great enemy of the Aetari arose from the crevices of the world, awoken by the newly created paradise on the surface. They wanted the world for themselves, and battled the Aetari for dominion over Amestria. The Aetari and their children fought the Daenaru, whom proved to be a formidable enemy.

In only a few years the world had been ravaged by the war between the Aetari and Daenaru, no longer resembling the paradise it had been before. The Aetari eventually defeated the Daenaru and sealed them deep within the world. Exhausted and drained of their abilities, the Aetari were forced to return to the heavens. They left their children in charge of the world in their absence, whom would heal the world of the damage that had been done.

For many centuries the Aetari did not return. Their children awaited their return patiently, yearning to return to the heavens. They never returned, and their children would resent them for leaving them behind. One day, great vessels of war piloted by mighty beings came fourth from the sky. The gods of war emerged from their craft to a pristine world carefully managed by the Aetari’s children.

These beings demanded that Aetari’s children submit to their will and share with them the world they had carefully managed. The children of the Aetari resented being abandoned by their parents, and accepted the request of the war gods. It did not take long for the children to realize that these war gods did not care for the world and only sought to reap the abundance from it.

The children were forced into slavery by the war gods, tormented to do their bidding and reap the world of all which they had worked so hard to heal. The children knew they could not overthrow the war gods themselves, and turned to the Daenaru which were sealed deep beneath the world. They formed a pact where they would share the surface once the war gods were gone, and together they waged war against the masters of war.

The gods of war proved to be an undefeatable opponent, too great in number and strength. The children and their new Daenaru allies were close to defeat, when from the heavens came forth the Aetari. And with the Aetari came swords of light and destruction, which they used to slay the giant vessels of the war gods. And then the war gods sent fourth their mightiest vessel, a symbol of all that is conquest.

The Aetari battled with this mighty symbol, and in the end defeated the war gods and drove them back into the heavens. Finally reunited with their parents, the children of the Aetari sought to return to heaven and rest. But the Aetari refused, for they had gone against their wishes and freed the Daenaru from the depths of the world. The Aetari bid their final farewell to their children, entrusting all that they had created upon the world to them. They returned to the heavens and never returned to the world they had shaped.

Their friendship, hardened through the fires of war and suffering, would remain between the Aetari’s children and the Daenaru. The two races would share the world for many centuries to come. It is not known to this day who the children of the Aetari or the Daenaru were, nor do we know of who the great gods of war were. Lua error: Internal error: The interpreter exited with status 126.
