Physical Characteristics

Unlike their aetherial fairy cousins who were created by artificial means, dryads are formed naturally within their home tree. While essentially elven in appearance, their skin tones take on a tint that ranges from cream to green in color. Their eyes are always blue, lime, or green in appearance. Their hair is made up of strands just like any typical elf, but will always be a rich green in color. Their height and weight are directly proportional to their home tree, with some dryads being as small as 4'6" while others are as large as 7'. Their weight also ranges from 90 to 220 lbs depending on the size of their home tree. Dryads are able to venture any distance away from their tree, the bond between the two not being fully understood by modern aetherial knowledge. Unlike fairies they can be injured and killed, but may be reborn within their home tree in some cases. They don't require and food or aetherial intake, all of which are provided by their home tree. If their home tree starts to die or weakens, the dryad will die or weaken along with it. Dryads cannot be corrupted by chaotic aether, but their home tree can be. If their home tree is corrupted by chaotic aether the dryad will display the same behavioral signs as a dark fairy.
