The Arcadian Wilderness is a massive expanse of dense forest consisting of massive trees and dangerous beasts which lurk below the canopy. This region is also the home of the Fae'Naru, a native branch of Sylfae who are devoted to protecting the forest from any outsiders. The region is largely unexplored, due to the numerous dangers which exist within the forest.

History

The Arcadian Wilderness used to be a part of a much larger region called the ancient forest, a region which covered most of the Exodius Continent. The forest was said to be inhabited by the celestial fairy known as Celestia, which is worshiped by the native Fae'Naru to this day. It has been said that Celestia left the forest before the Exodian Era, and has never returned since. In the centuries leading up to Exodia, humanity used their newly acquired aetherial knowledge to clear much of the ancient forest and kill the local wildlife.

The Fae'Naru attempted to stop humanity from destroying their forest, but ultimately failed and were forced to recede further into the ancient forest. By the time Exodia had fallen, the vast majority of the ancient forest had been cleared, and all that remained of it was the region currently known as the Arcadian Wilderness. There have been many attempts by post-exodian kingdoms to establish positive relations with the Fae'Naru in order to gain access to the region, but the elves' hatred for humanity is not so easily forgotten.

All attempts to gain access to the region have failed, only fairies, dryads, and centaurs are seemingly allowed in the forest by the Fae'Naru. The region is mostly ignored in the present day, as there are far more appealing locations to colonize than this wild and verdant forest.

Geography

The Arcadian Wilderness is an endless sea of massive trees, most being over a thousand years old. The trees forms a thick canopy which blocks out the sky and reduces the amount of light which makes it to the forest floor. The forest floor itself varies wildly in composition, from some areas being very open to other areas being completely choked out by thick underbrush.

The forest is brimming with all manners of small animals commonly found in other temperate forests such as squirrels, rabbits, foxes, ect. In addition to moderately dangerous predators such as wolves, boars, tigers, and bears, there are also creatures which are truly massive that reside in the forest. These titanic beasts are one of the primary reasons the region is difficult to settle, and often work in tandem with the Fae'Naru in keeping other races out of the forest.

The region has a large concentration of charged aether, and hosts a large variety of aether beasts and well as fairies, dryads, and even some kitsune. These races are able to co-exist with the local ecosystem, and remain in good terms with the Fae'Naru as far as scholars know.
